Tribute to Dr. Myles Munroe (1954-2014)

Posted by Apostle Ramona Haswell on November 14, 2014 at 4:25 PM

My most earliest memories of Dr. Myles Munroe go back to the early 1990's.  One particular time I recall was when he delivered the message on "Purpose" which inspired the following poem:

"Purposed"

By Angel-heart Garrison

(c) January 23, 1992

Inspired by Dr. Myles Munroe

With the words of Your mouth came the existence of all that is

except with Your own hands You formed clay into

what is called 'man' today.

With the words of Your mouth You spoke unto the land

which produced all that is and once dead, will go back again.

But with Your own words, You spoke unto Yourself

and breathed into this clay and made it spirit man

complete with soul and flesh.

And that house of clay, though temporary allows this spirit man

to walk and commune with the earth, and sea and land.

But what is so extraordinary

is that I am so much a part of You.

And though far away I've sometimes felt I know You never left.

And as for me, I could not withdraw

from one of which I am so much a part.

For as the tree cannot exist without the soil nor the sun without the gas

Without you, oh most Holy God, I know I cannot last.

Forgetting, oh, my natural heritage that takes me back to Adam

one more step, takes me directly to my God in heaven.

My God, my Creator of whom I am one with

Finally! I am closer to Your reasoning behind my existence.

No matter how I came to be on this earth, I know

It was not a mistake it was what You pur-posed.

Spirit (seed) is what was planted and as Your daughter

respectfully, I can call you (Abba Father) daddy

and accept that I am more like You and begin to live as you planned me to.

For as the seasons pass, we all know almost nothing lasts

flowers will wither and again return to soil

so will the trees and grass and cattle and the house of clay once formed.

But as final as it may all seem for me there is eternity

For I glory that my spirit man will at last return unto thee.
